The MBA (International Business) is a full-time, two-year postgraduate degree programme comprising four semesters. The Department of Commerce introduced a one-year full-time postgraduate Diploma in International Marketing (PGDIM) in 1985-86. This programme was well received by trade and industry. The feedback received from such organisations, as well as the alumni, prompted the Department to introduce a full-time two-year MIB [Now MBA(IB], laying special emphasis on aspects of international business operations, including global marketing and international financial management.
The objective of the MBA(IB) programme is to develop candidates suitable for entry-level managerial positions in the field of international business management. It aims to cultivate professionals capable of interpreting global trends, formulating adaptive strategies, fostering sustainable growth, and driving organisations with a global outlook in an interconnected and dynamic business environment.
The MBA(IB) is a forward-looking academic endeavour committed to shaping globally competent business leaders. The programme has been designed in a manner so that the students gain an in-depth knowledge and analytical skills, which will enable them to efficiently and effectively carry out various marketing and international business operations of an organisation in the emerging global environment. Aligned with the Department’s mission to develop skilled, ethical, and socially conscious professionals, the program equips students to navigate the complexities of international markets and cross-border operations. Its curriculum integrates core management education with specialised courses in global trade, international finance, cross-cultural management, digital marketing, and strategic policy. Enriched through collaboration with industry practitioners, trade organisations, and academicians, the program seamlessly combines theoretical depth with experiential learning.
