Course Duration: Two-year full-time course


Description: The Department runs the prime course of Master of Commerce since its inception in 1967. The rigour in curriculum and pedagogy has brought laurels to the department and this is one of the prestigious courses in the country in its own domain. With the prime objective of creating world class academic in the field of commerce and business, this course has very well responded to the needs of industry and administration. This gets vouched as Alumni of the Department are well placed in business, academics and administration all across the globe.

 

  I. Admission-

 From the academic year 2023-24, admission to M.Com. Program will be done on the basis of the Common University Entrance Test (PG).

For admission to M.Com. Program, the candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria and appear in the respective CUET paper. Refer to cuet.nta.nic.in for the syllabus of the CUET paper.

All applicants irrespective of category are required to fill online registration form. There is no offline mode of filling the forms. For filling online application, please visit University of Delhi website www.du.ac.in. Admission seekers are required, on their own, to visit the websites and admission portal for updates and details of admission schedule and dates.

  II.        Eligibility Criteria-

Minimum Eligibility
For candidates belonging to UR/OBC-NCL/EWS category, the minimum eligibility is 50%marksaggregate or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination as per the Program-Specific Eligibility

For candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwBD category, the minimum eligibility is 45%marks inaggregateor equivalent grade in the qualifying examination as per the Program-Specific Eligibility

*For admissions to the programs which are governed by the regulations of the regulatory bodies, suchas Medical Council of India (MCI), All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), Bar Council of India(BCI), National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE), Dental Council of India (DCI), etc., the Universityadheres to the Minimum Eligibility requirements prescribed under the respective regulations of theconcerned bodies. Refer to the respective Program-Specific Eligibility.

Programme Specific Eligibility

Category 1A:  B.Com. (Hons.)/ B.Com. (Pass/ Program)/ Bachelor's Degree in Commerce/Bachelor's of Management Studies (B.M.S.)/ Bachelor's of Business Studies(B.B.S.)/ Bachelor's of Business Administration (B.B.A.)/ Bachelor's of Business Administration in Financial Investment Analysis (B.B.A-F.I.A.)/ Bachelor's of Financial and Investment Analysis (B.F.I.A.)/ Bachelor's in Business Economics (B.B.E) / B.A. (Hons.) Business Economics (B.B.E.) from a recognized University.

Category 2A: B.Com. (Hons.)/ B.Com. (Pass/ Program)/ Bachelor's Degree in Commerce/ Bachelor's of Management Studies (B.M.S.)/ Bachelor's of Business Studies (B.B.S.)/ Bachelor's of Business Administration (B.B.A.)/ Bachelor's of Business Administration in Financial Investment Analysis (B.B.A-F.I.A.)/ Bachelor's of Financial and Investment Analysis (B.F.I.A.)/ Bachelor's in Business Economics
(B.B.E)/ B.A. (Hons.) Business Economics (B.B.E.) from University of Delhi.                            

III. Required documents at the time of Admission-

Shortlisted candidates under both categories are required to bring following documents along with completed application form at the time of admission:

  1. Original and self- attested copy of the certificate showing the marks obtained in the last University examination.
  2. Original and self- attested copy of the character certificate from the Principal of the college/Head of the Institution last attended.
  3. Original and self-attested copy of Senior Secondary certificate.
  4. A self-attested copy of the matriculation or other certificate evidencing the date of birth.
  5. In case of students coming from other University, migration certificate from that University. Please note, this document in original is required at the time of admission only.
  6. Three copies of a recent passport-size photograph, duly attested.
  7. Original and self- attested copy of the Category Certificate (in case of SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PWBD, and CW category).

Note: 

  1. Original documents are required to be submitted at the time of admission. The original documents are retained by the Department/College.
  2. Doing some other course of the University with the M.Com. Course is not permitted.
  3. Please ensure certificate under point ‘g’ is in order as per University of Delhi requirements.
  4. Entrance Test (Duration and scope; marks of entrance test, and interview, if any)

Date of CUET- The date of CUET would be as per University of Delhi notification.

 

  1. Admission Process:
  2. The Admission process and the schedule would be as per the University of Delhi notification.
  3. For allocation and reallocation of seats to candidates, the policy of the University of Delhi shall be followed.
  4. To reiterate students must produce all original documents at the time of admission.
  5. The decision of the Admission Committee shall be final in the admission to M. Com course.


 IV.        Fees:

* The students enrolled for M.Com in the Department of Commerce, shall pay a fees of Rs. 13810/-.
* Students admitted to colleges other than Department of Commerce, shall pay the relevant fees according to the fee structure of their respective colleges.
* Fee is to be paid online. The decision of the University shall be final in this regard.

Note: The eligibility condition and number of seats under various Reserved Categories shall be as per the proportionate reservation as provided under University rules.

Reservations/Relaxations

There will be reservation for SC, ST, EWS, PWBD, OBC, CW, and FS categories as per University of Delhi rules. Further, the students claiming reservations must upload copies of relevant documents/ certificates from the competent authority along with the application form.

Foreign Students

Foreign students seeking admission to the course in the Department as well as Hostel accommodation should apply directly to the Foreign Students Advisor, Foreign Students’ Registry, C/o Conference Center, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007. This holds for all foreign students whether the student has passed his/her last qualifying examination from Indian Board / University or from abroad. No foreign student shall be admitted to any college/Department without prior approval of the Dy. Dean, (Foreign Students), University of Delhi.

The criteria for admission to M. Com course for foreign students are as follows:

  1. 10+2+3 years of education.
  2. Medium of Instruction should be English/ studied English at the graduation level/ English Proficiency certificate of TOEFL (minimum 70) or IELTS (minimum 6 band).
  3. The candidate should have studied Mathematics at school level.
  4. The candidate should have studied subjects related to commerce at the Graduation level with minimum 65% marks in case of B. Com (Hons.) or 70% in any other degree.

 

Note: The final merit list for admission under the Foreign Students Category shall be determined by normalizing the marks of eligible Non-Honours candidates by deducting 5% and making the merit list on the basis of combined merit of honours and non-honours courses after such deduction.
